About Hanna

This is it.

It took me 47 years to learn something that sounds simple: we really do not need to do anything else than be here in this moment.

I am still learning every day — old habits are stubborn. Like many people, I used to have an endless drive for better, more, faster, further, never enough. We tend to try too hard, even in yoga or meditation.

The yogic and Buddhist traditions teach something I now know to be true: everything you need is already here, inside you. Just be at home in yourself.

That is my life's purpose: to stand in my own strength and fully own it. And to help others do the same — to be at ease and comfortable in their own body and mind.

Moving from the inside out

I have always been moving. As a young girl I was a little ballerina; later I explored Tai Chi, climbing, sailing, snowboarding, yoga, Pilates, Essentrics. The common thread through all of it: moving smoothly with the whole body to feel free, fit, and energised.

Over 12 years of teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and now also Essentrics, Pilates, and Qi Gong, my teaching has developed into something I call Smart Move — a movement method that brings these traditions together under one philosophy: movement from the inside out.

Real strength is never rigid. The body has its own intelligence, and the work is to listen to it, not override it.

The long way through Ayurveda

My upbringing in Asia gave me a deep love for travelling, different cultures, and cooking. I have spent years diving into Ayurvedic nutrition and cooking — studying in India, training with Ayurvedic doctors, and cooking in Indian homes.

There was a period when my own body was significantly out of balance. It was Ayurveda that made sense of things for me — not through rigid prescriptions, but through the practice of listening to what my body actually needed. That experience lit something in me, and it led to years of exploration, teaching, and now a cookbook in the making.

Watching people discover — often with genuine surprise — that simple, healthy food can be this delicious and feel this good is what keeps me developing this work.

22 years as an engineer

My career started somewhere quite different. For 22 years I worked as a full-time engineer and business developer, specialised in hydrogen and sustainability. I was passionate and driven — but running continuously and depleting my own energy.

I chose to redirect my time, creativity, and skills toward what truly matters to me: wellbeing. That analytical, rigorous, systems-oriented background shapes how I think about the body and how I teach. It is why I always explain the why alongside the how — and why students often say they finally understand things they have practised for years.
