Smart Move

Balanced · Alive · Attuned

These three words describe what a class feels like — and what consistent practice builds over time. Not pumped up, not wired, not depleted. Something deeper and more lasting.

A different kind of energy

Most exercise is built on a simple transaction: spend energy to get fitter. Push harder, burn more, repeat. That can feel good in the moment — but it's borrowed energy, working the superficial muscles. The bill arrives later as fatigue, stiffness, or that flat feeling the day after a hard session.

Smart Move is built on a different premise. The body has its own intelligence and its own energy. Most of us carry so much tension, imbalance, and restriction that this energy is blocked and cannot move freely. The work is not to push harder — it is to release what is blocking you, rebalance what has drifted out of alignment, activate your deeper strength and restore what is depleted.

The result is not the adrenaline kind of energy. It is quieter and more lasting: feeling grounded and lighter at the same time. Calmer and more alive. Stable and responsive. Stronger and softer. More like yourself.

Five doors, one room

Each of the five traditions has its own character and its own way in — but they share the same underlying philosophy and arrive at the same destination: a body that is balanced, strong, alive, and more attuned to itself.

Essentrics

Strength in length

Muscles strengthened as they lengthen — never shortened, never stiffened. All 650 muscles rebalanced across the whole body simultaneously. The result: long, strong, and supple muscles that support rather than restrict movement. Inspired by ballet and the flowing principles of Tai Chi.

Fascia Work

The living web

Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps every muscle and joint. When hydrated and responsive, it makes movement effortless. When restricted it becomes a source of stiffness, fatigue, and injury. Every Smart Move session uses fluid, multi-directional movement to rehydrate and restore the fascial system.

Pilates

Deep stability without bracing

A strong core does not grip and become rigid — it supports deeply. Smart Move integrates Pilates principles with a fascia-informed approach: deep stabilising muscles activated through breath, awareness, and dynamic movement. Core strength that is genuinely useful in daily life.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Moving meditation

A continuous, breath-led practice in which strength, flexibility, and softness coexist. Dynamically sequenced and anatomically informed, with space always for your own rhythm. Not a performance — a conversation between breath and body.

Qi Gong

Moving with life energy

Rooted in thousands of years of Chinese medicine, Qi Gong works with the body's vital energy through slow, intentional movement, coordinated breath, and present-moment awareness. Students consistently leave feeling more replenished than when they arrived.

What makes it different

  • A different kind of energy — active, alive and balanced, not adrenaline-driven
  • Strength and suppleness together: muscles that are long and strong, never shortened by training
  • The whole body, every session: all muscles, all planes of movement, all joints
  • Awareness as part of the practice: feeling what is happening deepens and increases effectiveness
  • Relearning how the body is designed to move and stand
  • Each class complete in itself — full benefit from a single session
  • Gentle and demanding: challenging enough to create real change, soft enough to restore vitality
